Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling and Psychotherapy are 'talking therapies'. As a therapist I will aim to help you find better ways to cope, or bring about changes in the way you think and behave to improve your mental and emotional well-being. This process can be short or long term and the number sessions will depend on you, and the depth and complexity of the issues you want to resolve.
Sessions are confidential, and thus you can talk about things you might not feel you are able to discuss with anyone else.
Using the person-centred approach, I will help you to become your true self (self-actualisation). I will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve change and growth.

Using the psychodynamic approach, I will help you to access your unconscious thoughts and feelings and process these to help reduce and resolve issues. I will help you to focus on becoming self-aware and understanding the influence of the past on present behaviours, thoughts and feelings.
